The Boston Globe profiled Partners HealthCare’s Interim CEO Anne Klibanski, current Partners chief academic officer. As successor to David Torchiana, starting in May, Klibanski will be the first woman CEO of Partners.

Klibanski is known for working to reduce gender disparities in science and medicine and supporting women in their careers. In addition to being the first woman from Massachusetts General Hospital’s Department of Medicine to become a full professor at Harvard Medical School, Klibanski launched a competitive grant program for women scientists and helped establish backup child care center for hospital employees.

Klibanski is expected to serve for about a year as interim CEO.
