Core Summary:

The mission of the BWH DNA Sequencing Core is to provide a highly accurate, high quality DNA sequencing service to the BWH community and other users. We also provide capillary electrophoresis analysis for MLPA, microsatellites, and SNaPshot products. Our turn-around-time is 36 to 72 hrs.

The facility is located at 221 Longwood Ave, EBRC Room 114, Boston.

  • ABI 3730XL Genetic Analyzer capillary electrophoresis machine
  • BioRad MyCycler thermal cycler
  • MJ Research Tetrad thermal cycler
  • Beckman GS-6R Centrifuge
  • ABI 3100 Genetic Analyzer capillary electrophoresis machine

Our main service is to perform DNA Sequencing Analysis by the Sanger method on samples of size 1 or 96 or more. We also have an instrument (ABI 3130xl) that is devoted for analysis of DNA sequences that are labeled with fluorophores for any type of analysis, including MLPA, microsatellite analysis, SNaPshot reaction products, etc. We are pleased to work with users on any application for which capillary electrophoresis is helpful.
