DNA Sequencing Core

Core Summary:

The DNA Sequencing Core offers sequencing service in a timely, economical, and reliable
manner. Results are made available to you over the internet as text-only files and
chromatogram files which contain the fluorescent dye peaks the sequencer uses to determine
base calls.

The facility is located at 38 Sidney Street, Suite 100, Cambridge.

Services:
  • Sequencing of DNA using Applied Biosystems Taq DyeDeoxy Terminator cycle sequencing kits which utilize a fluorescently-labeled dideoxy-nucleotide chain termination method.
  • Purification of plasmid DNA with Qiagen R.E.A.L. or Turbo Preps.
  • Plasmid verification at 1- or 2-fold coverage for plasmids with a known sequence.  The consensus sequence is provided in Genbank format with a variance table listing differences between the reference and consensus sequences.
  • Primer walking for plasmid/templates up to 7kb
  • PCR Purification
  • Microsatellite analysis

* Please note: These rates apply even if the samples fail to produce useful sequence data unless control samplese included with every run also fail. An order containing less than 96 samples will not be charged the lower rate even if submitted in a 96-well plate format.

Once you have registered and created a user account, you will be able to generate a
bar-coded submission sheet to include with your sample.
