| At MGH, a diabetes research team cured
Type 1 (so-called juvenile) diabetes in 80% of diseased
lab mice. After the team injected the mice for 40 days
with a compound, diseased cells died off and were replaced
by healthy adult stem cells. Previously they identified
a T cell defect in diabetic mice that destroys insulin-producing
beta cells. |
