OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SERVICES
The Occupational Health Service (OHS) provides occupational health care to all employees and staff. Services include vaccination for Hepatitis B, varicella, and influenza; TB screening; and evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries and exposures. It is required that all residents be cleared by the OHS prior to beginning training and provide an immunization and TB status history. Subsequently, residents must obtain annual TB screening. Residents must report any diagnosis of a communicable disease and comply with appropriate work restrictions to prevent the spread of nosocomial infections. All blood and body fluid exposures should be reported as soon as possible after the event and particularly within one hour to benefit from post-exposure prophylaxis, if warranted, based on the risk of the exposure.
