- Graduate trainees are protected by laws and hospital policies
that prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, religion, color,
gender, marital status, age, ancestry, sexual preference, handicap
or veteran status.
- All clinical trainees are supervised by attending physicians in
the performance of their clinical duties. When not physically present,
attending physicians are available for consultation.
- Trainees in programs accredited by the ACGME are not eligible for
admitting privileges.
- On call rooms are provided for House Officers who are on duty in
the hospital overnight. These rooms are not intended to be used as
full-time living quarters.
Note: Valuable articles should not
be left in on call rooms.
- The design of duty hours and call schedules and the assignment of
rotations are planned by individual departments to assure the continuity
of patient care and to provide appropriate educational experiences
for trainees. Changing circumstances within the hospital, and changes
in its patient care activities, graduate medical education training
programs or the requirements of training in your specialty may result
in modification of the usual call and assignment schedules.
- Clinical trainees may not appear on duty, or come into the vicinity
of patients or visitors after consumption of alcohol until both its
scent and all detectable signs of its influence have entirely disappeared.
- Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the hospital, including private
offices, call rooms, laboratories and conference rooms.
- A picture identification badge must be worn at all times while in
the hospital.
