Steven Grinspoon, MD, Director, MGH Program in Nutritional Metabolism and Clinical Director, MGH Neuroendocrine Clinical Center

Grinspoon

The MGH Program in Nutritional Metabolism was formed under the direction of Steven Grinspoon, MD, a recognized expert in the mechanisms and consequences of altered body composition in lipodystrophy and obesity and the nutritional regulation of pituitary function. Dr. Grinspoon, Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, is also Clinical Director of the MGH Neuroendocrine Clinical Center and a member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation. A major investigative focus of the Program in Nutritional Metabolism is the study of the effects of undernutrition on pituitary function and body composition and endocrine abnormalities in HIV-infected patients.

According to Dr. Grinspoon, the PHS Office of Corporate Sponsored Clinical Research "has been instrumental in helping our program negotiate and execute contracts, agreements and budgets for the industry sponsored clinical research conducted in our Program. They have consistently achieved balanced and favorable contracts for our research projects. Lynn Williams (the CSCR agreement associate who supports Dr. Grinspoon's group) has shown true dedication to the rapid review of our contracts and proposals. She works effectively with outside institutions and comes rapidly to a fair compromise on important contract language. I feel confident our interests are being very well represented."
