Mass General and Brigham and Women's ranked on U.S. News national honor roll - McLean and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospitals also rank high

BOSTON – Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), the founders of Partners HealthCare, have earned spots on the U.S. News & World Report annual Honor Roll of America’s Best Hospitals. MGH ranked fourth nationally, while BWH ranked eleventh among the 14 hospitals on the list.

Partners hospitals also scored well in the individual specialties rankings. MGH was ranked first in psychiatry for the eleventh consecutive year, while McLean Hospital, in fourth place, was the highest-ranking freestanding psychiatric hospital on the list. Spaulding placed seventh in rehabilitation, and was again the only New England rehabilitation hospital making the list. In addition, BWH moved up from third to second in gynecology and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, which with Partners formed Dana-Farber/Partners CancerCare, ranked fifth nationally in cancer.

“Our physicians, nurses and other caregivers deserve the credit – and our thanks – for this recognition,” said Partners President and CEO James J. Mongan, MD. “They give their all and the best possible care to our patients every day. We congratulate each and every one of them.”

MGH was among the top ten hospitals in the country in eleven specialties, including psychiatry, cardiology, endocrinology, digestive disorders, gynecology, neurology/neurosurgery, kidney disease, orthopedics, respiratory, rheumatology, and urology. BWH ranked in the top ten hospitals in the country in six categories, including cardiology, endocrinology, digestive disorders, gynecology, kidney disease, and rheumatology.
