Medical Education Collaboration with Pfizer in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America

In 2004, Partners began a collaboration with Pfizer, Inc. to provide educational opportunities for physicians in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. The collaboration features Continuing Medical Education Conferences in cardiovascular disease held annually in Dubai and Latin America. Secondly, a Clinical Preceptorship program was established for visiting oncologists and cardiologists from these regions. The preceptorships are made available to promising early and mid-career specialists who come to Boston to participate in clinical rotations at MGH, BWH and, in the case of oncologists, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. These programs provide structured mentoring as well as a formal schedule of participation in clinical rounds, case conferences, educational lectures and inter-disciplinary team discussions.

Seoul National University Hospital

Partners International consummated a formal relationship with Seoul National University Hospital (SNUH) Healthcare System in April 2005. Our initial collaboration has been structured in the form of Partners Premiere Program Affiliation Agreement with a division known as the Gangnam Center.

Opened in 2003, Gangnam Center is a new division of Seoul National University Hospital that provides diagnostic and preventive care. Such care is not covered under the national insurance plan; so care is personally funded and service delivery is consumer-driven.

Gangnam Center offers a state-of-the-art facility and "one stop shopping" for virtually all diagnostic services, including MRI, PET, CT, and Upper GI Endoscopy. The Gangnam Center has been extremely successful and it serves a broad array of clients who are proactive about managing and protecting their health.

Gangnam Center offers a comprehensive program, called Partners Premiere CEO, that includes diagnostic screening, preventive care, physician specialist visits, health promotion and chronic condition management services as well as core Partners Premiere service features. Clients elect to enroll for a minimum of a year.

SNUH and Partners are exploring broader collaboration in the areas of genetics and genomics, remote health care management as well as research and education.
