As part of an expanded commitment to international programs and patients in 1999, Partners International established an Embassy & Foreign Government Relations division in Washington, DC to address the specific needs of international and diplomatic organizations with representation in the U.S. The Washington office provides a direct link for embassies, foreign governments and international physicians to the clinical expertise and state-of-the-art facilities available at the Partners hospitals.

As Manager of International Government & Corporate Relations, Lesley Macherelli works directly with embassies, international organizations, foreign government representatives and NGOs to connect them to some of the world's top physicians and medical resources for specialized disease management, second opinions and customized medical training & education programs. Prior to joining Partners, Ms. Macherelli was Division Manager for Europe at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.

Services for patients available through the Washington office include triage and appointment scheduling, coordination of the admitting process, assistance with transportation, lodging, visas and financial arrangements, as well as expert interpreting and translation services.
