Where We Work

SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST ASIA

Partners HealthCare International has a long history of working with organizations in South and Southeast Asia, including projects in China, India, Japan, Korea, and Singapore, among other countries. China and India in particular feature rapidly evolving health care systems characterized by shifting population and disease trends, increasing pressure to build out the health workforce, and the need to create new health care institutions that are cost-effective and efficient.

MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA

The health and education systems of the Middle Eastern countries are changing rapidly. Increases in per capita income and rapid population growth are driving demand for high-quality health care delivery institutions. This in turn is resulting in huge capital investments in health care systems, facilities, and technologies. At the same time, countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates are aware of the need to develop human capital to work in these growing systems, and looking for innovative education and training programs for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

EUROPE

Partners HealthCare International’s relationships with European institutions dates back to the organization’s earliest years. Many health care systems across Europe are mature in development, but in need of reform. PHI works with partner institutions in Germany, Greece, and Turkey, among other countries, on programs designed to enhance health care systems, increase trans-Atlantic physician collaboration, and maintain a gateway to the member hospitals of Partners HealthCare for patients with complex disease.

LATIN AMERICA

In Latin America, as in other parts of the world, a number of factors are having an impact on the development of health care systems. Among these are changing population demographics, the growing predominance of chronic diseases, and greater demand for local availability of health care services meeting a world standard. Partners HealthCare International is actively developing programs aimed at helping institutions in countries like Brazil and Chile become regional standard-setters.

NORTH AMERICA

For several decades the member hospitals of Partners HealthCare have worked with physicians, patients, and insurers to offer Bermuda residents with advanced medical care. For example, since 2008 Partners HealthCare has been the Bermuda Hospital Board’s preferred referral center for cancer care. Partners HealthCare International continues to provide patients and referring physicians from Bermuda, as well as Canada, with top-quality support to enable them to access the services of the Partners HealthCare member hospitals.
