The Partners Office of Resources for Trainees (P.O.R.T.) serves as a single point of support for the many non-academic issues that impact resident and fellow quality of life.
P.O.R.T. will:
- Provide advocacy based on the needs and suggestions of residents and fellows. An advisory group will help to identify and prioritize issues and initiatives.
- Serve as a rich source of information on a variety of quality of life issues relevant to residents and fellows (e.g. housing, transportation, childcare, loan consolidation, etc.). Information will be available through an extensive web presence and via individual consultation with expert staff.
- Act as a liaison, referring trainees to resources within and outside of Partners appropriate
to their needs.- Sponsor social events, lectures, and other programs that will provide helpful content and/or connections, while supporting a sense of community among trainees.
- Help to coordinate and support existing and new trainee-based organizations.
- Coordinate trainee orientation programs and educational retreats.
The Office will work closely with Human Resources staff and coordinate appropriately with the Partners Employee Assistance Program and other programs and people. Activities will evolve over the next year based on the input of trainees and other advisors: we look forward to your feedback.
We are quickly developing our website and will soon have many additional resources posted, so please be sure to bookmark this page. Check out the Work Life Resources section, and send us your feedback and suggestions.
