The Partners Office of Resources for Trainees (PORT) serves as a single point of support for the many non-academic issues that impact resident and fellow quality of life. Services provided by PORT include:
- Advocacy: based on the needs and suggestions of residents and fellows, an advisory group will help to identify and prioritize issues and implement initiatives.
- Information: serve as a rich source of information on a variety of quality of life issues relevant to residents and fellows Information is available through the PORT website and individual consultation.
- Connections: act as a liaison, referring trainees to resources within and outside of Partners appropriate to their needs working closely with Human Resources, the Partners Employee Assistance Program and other relevant programs and people.
- Events: plan lectures, social events and other programs providing useful content and connections, while fostering a community among trainees.
- Coordination: support existing and new trainee-based organizations. PORT will also coordinate trainee orientation programs and educational retreats in conjuction with Partners Graduate Medical Education.
