Partners
HealthCare and the Boston Private Industry Council are collaborating to
offer scholarships to individuals who wish to pursue a career in medical
imaging (radiology)technology.
What Partners HealthCare provides:
- Educational scholarships. Partners HealthCare provides
scholarship funding of up to $5,000 per year, to be used toward an accredited
program in medical imaging. The scholarship is essentially a forgivable
loan. For students who complete their education and subsequent employment
obligations, the loan is forgiven. Scholarships are supported in part
through the Boston Private Industry Council with funds from the U.S.
Department of Labor.

Support. Partners HealthCare is
committed to a multi-dimensional support system for all interested
applicants, from career exploration through licensure and employment as
a radiologic technologist. The program includes: job shadowing
opportunities, assistance in completing a college application,
mentoring, tutoring, work experience, paid internships, and work release
(for Partners employees) in the field of Radiology.

A job. Partners HealthCare makes
available a range of employment opportunities within its network of
academic teaching hospitals and community hospitals for those people who
complete their education and meet job qualifications.
What scholarship recipients do in exchange for a scholarship:
Scholarship recipients must successfully
complete an accredited academic program in medical imaging.
Scholarship recipients exchange a year-for-year
paid employment at one of the following Partners HealthCare
member hospitals:
- Brigham and Women’s Hospital
- Massachusetts General Hospital
- Faulkner Hospital
- Newton-Wellesley Hospital
- North Shore Medical Center
- McLean Hospital
- Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital
Eligibility:
The Partners HealthCare Medical Imaging
Scholarship Program is open to students accepted or currently enrolled in
an accredited medical imaging program.
Priority will be given to Boston residents, people who are already
employed in other positions within Partners hospitals and displaced
workers.

The Partners HealthCare Medical Imaging
Technology Scholarships are part of a comprehensive effort to fill the
growing need for radiology technologists. It is led by Partners Radiology,
Human Resources, and Community Benefit Departments and was developed in
collaboration with the Boston Public Health Commission and the Boston
Private Industry Council.
