Clinical and Quality Analysis

Lynn A. Volk, MHS

Lynn A. Volk, MHS is Senior Manager of the Clinical and Quality Analysis Department at Mass General Brigham. In this role she oversees the research management of and participates as a co-investigator in several large-scale grants and a number of operational evaluation projects. Ms. Volk's research focus is the evaluation of the impact of information systems on quality of patient care. She has been a co-investigator on several federally funded projects including an evaluation of “smart forms” supporting chronic disease care and clinical documentation, an evaluation of the impact of shared online health records through a patient portal, and an evaluation of the impact of electronic health record adoption on medication error, quality and satisfaction. Current research activities include evaluating clinical decision support regarding laboratory monitoring of medications, evaluating a health information data exchange, and a study to assess the utility of genetic IT infrastructure support to deliver genetic variant update information. Prior to Partners, Ms. Volk was at the Risk Management Foundation of the Harvard Medical Institutions for more than ten years where she had roles in loss prevention, research, technology development, and operations. Ms. Volk has her Masters in Health Science from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
