Clinical and Quality Analysis

Welcome to CQA

The Clinical and Quality Analysis (CQA) group in Information Systems at Mass General Brigham conducts research evaluating the impact of clinical information systems on patient safety, quality, and care delivery. CQA's efforts promote the understanding of the value of healthcare information technology (HIT) and inform the design, development, and implementation of effective tools to support quality patient care. CQA's work focuses on the practical application of clinical informatics both within and external to Partners HealthCare.

CQA's staff includes experienced researchers, pharmacists, programmer analysts, and statisticians. Under the direction of David W. Bates, MD, MSc, an internationally renowned expert in the field of clinical informatics with a broad expertise in medication safety, clinical decision support, and HIT evaluation, the CQA group collaborates with more than 20 faculty affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Harvard School of Public Health, as well as health services researchers and informaticians worldwide.

Dissemination of CQA's research findings through publications, presentations and participation in policy forums contributes to local, national, and international progress in achieving the goal of healthcare transformation through information technology.
