The main deliverables of the CDS Consortium include:

Tangible, actionable artifacts – These include shareable, human readable, and computable forms of PHS developed clinical practice guidelines, software and demonstration systems, which will be made available to the public.

CDS Consortium software tools and technologies: the CDSC produces tools and software that are shared with all members of the consortium. Cloud-based CDS Services are available for consumption in remote EMR systems, and implementation guides and technical specifications are available to assist with implementation. The CDS Knowledge Authoring Tool (CDSC-KAT) allows users to create knowledge artifacts in the Level 3 knowledge representation formalism.

Detailed guidance and recommendations – These will be based on what we learn from our efforts, for external parties such as the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT) and the Health Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP).

A set of knowledge management best practices – This will include methods for knowledge management, representation, implementation, and performance assessment, and managing decision-support related organizational change. We will share this knowledge through a variety of channels, such as presentations, academic papers and reports, and content posted through AHRQ’s National Resource Center for Health Information Technology.

Governance Model: We will collaboratively develop a content governance model to share our experiences for managing CDS knowledge assets used across disparate systems and settings.
