A Handbook - You can request a free copy of the 2001 edition of the Harvard University and Affiliates Family Resource Handbook. Informative chapters include: pregnancy and postpartum resources, choosing child care, general resources for families, resources for older children, resources for the elderly and things to do with children in the Boston area. Child Care - Help in determining your child care needs is available to parents. Information regarding: child care centers, family child care homes, in-home child care agencies, continuing to breastfeed when you go back to work, after school programs, preschools, finding a babysitter, public and private schools, school vacation programs and summer camps. Elder Care - Help in identifying community resources and services is available to employees caring for their elderly relatives. Information regarding: adult day health care, home health care services, hospice care, legal issues, housing options, Medicare and Medicaid, respite care, support groups, transportation andvisiting nurses. Lunchtime Programs and Seminars - Experts address issues of concern to employees who are attempting to balance work and family life.
