John V. Woodard currently is chair and trustee of Partners Continuing
Care, Inc., the parent organization of all Partners Healthcare System
non-acute entities, including Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, of
which he is a trustee and formerly chair, Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation
Hospital, of which he is a trustee, and Spaulding/Y ouville Rehabilitation
Services, LLC, a joint venture with Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital,
of which he is a member of the Board of Managers. Mr. Woodard also
served as chair and remains a board member of Brigham and Women’s/Faulkner
Hospitals, a Partners HealthCare System entity, and The Boston Home,
Inc., an independent long term care facility.
Mr. Woodard has been a practicing attorney since 1969 concentrating
in labor and employment law in the private and public sectors. He
has been Of Counsel at Dane & Howe, LLP, in Boston, MA since 1995.
Previously he was a director (member) of Powers & Hall Professional
Corporation and an associate at Ropes & Gray in Boston. He is
a member of the Boston Bar Association. He is admitted to practice
before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts, U.S. District
Court for the District of Massachusetts and U.S. Court of Appeals
for the First Circuit.
Mr. Woodard resides in Dedham, Massachusetts where he has been active
in local organizations. Currently, he is president of the Dedham Community
Association, Inc. He was a member and chair of the Town of Dedham
Personnel Board, member of the Town of Dedham Finance Committee and
trustee and president of Dedham Country Day School, an independent
elementary school.
Mr. Woodard also has served a vestry member and warden of St Paul's
Episcopal Church in Dedham. Currently, he serves as a lay delegate
to the Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts as well
as a member of several diocesan committees.
Mr. Woodard served as an infantry officer in the United States Marine
Corps.
Mr. Woodard is a graduate of Harvard College, A.B, and Boston College
Law School, J.D., where he was a member of The Boston College Law
Review and Order of Coif.
