Terrence O’Malley, MD, has served as Medical Director of Partners Continuing Care, Inc. the Non-Acute Services division of Partners HealthCare System since 1998. He also serves as Assistant Medical Director for Partners Community HealthCare, Inc.

Dr. O’Malley’s current academic appointments include Instructor in Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He has held over 15 teaching posts with focus on Primary Care Medicine, Ambulatory Care Medicine and Geriatric Care with such medical institutions as Harvard Medical School, BU School of Medicine, University of MA Medical School, Massachusetts General and Youville Hospitals.

During his 30-year career in medicine Dr. O’Malley has held numerous professional positions and hospital appointments including a four-year stint as Medical Director for Tufts Secure Horizons Senior Plan at MGH-Chelsea Health Center. Currently he serves on the physician staffs of Massachusetts General Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Youville Hospital, and is Medical Director for Nursing Facilities in Revere and Saugus, MA. He also serves as Medical Director of the Boston Globe.

In addition to his hospital appointments Dr. O’Malley has held consulting and leadership roles in several national, state and local committees, including Project IDEA: Information Dissemination about Elderly Abuse with the National Office of Human Development Services; Interagency and Elder Rights Review Committees. Within Partners HealthCare System, he continues service on several committees including PCHI Medical Management, LMR Advisory Committee and 4 Next Development.

Dr. O’Malley has authored multiple articles, chapters and books on all aspects of Elderly Care, many of which have appeared in New England Journal of Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine and Medical Economics. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and maintains licensure and certification with the Massachusetts Medical Society, American Board of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics.
