In 1994, a total of five community health centers (CHCs)
were licensed by Partners hospitals. Today, a total of 20
community health centers are licensed or have entered into
affiliation arrangements with Partners, and some 200,000 CHC
patients have access to care in Partners hospitals each year.

Working closely with the Massachusetts League of Community
Health Centers (web link), Partners has provided more than
$175 million in financial support to community health centers
to help them improve their infrastructure, community health
programming and operations, and has helped a dozen health
centers to relocate, re-build, or modernize.
