Affiliated with Harvard Medical School, our physicians, researchers, and faculty are part of a vibrant medical community.  As a core mission pillar, education is at the heart of what we do to advance health care.

Graduate Medical Education

Mass General Brigham continues a long tradition of educating the next generation of physicians, many of whom play leadership roles in all areas of medicine and health care. We have nearly 2,500 residents and fellows in 300 programs, benefiting from an outstanding faculty and staff, a diverse group of local and international patients, and state-of-the art facilities and technology.

Mass General Brigham trains physicians in nearly all specialties and sub-specialties where they receive a rare and rich educational experience.

Continuing Professional Development

We are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Through learning activities, our physicians and other healthcare professionals address ways to:

  • Improve clinical decision making
  • Enhance patient management strategies
  • Interpret new clinically relevant findings
  • Analyze health policy

Our activities identify practice gaps to improve practice, integrate new findings, and implement state-of-the-art patient care.

MGH Institute of Health Professions

A graduate school focused exclusively on the health professions, the MGH Institute of Health Professions prepares practitioners to lead the next generation of interprofessional, compassionate care for a diverse society, through forward-thinking programs, innovative clinical practice, and ground-breaking research. Programs include nursing, communication sciences, genetic counseling, health professions education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant studies, and rehabilitation.

Mass General Brigham offers a variety of internships, a Workforce Development Program and a Medical Laboratory Science Training Program.

Mass General Brigham Alumni Association

The Mass General Brigham Alumni Association is a community of clinicians who share the experience of having completed medical training through any Mass General Brigham Graduate Medical Education program or a postdoctoral appointment. The Alumni Association provides education and mentorship opportunities for Mass General Brigham alumni to help advance patient care across the communities they serve.
