Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital opened the doors to its brand new, state-of-the-art facility on April 27, just days after the Boston Marathon Bombing. Survivors of the bombing have been among some of the hospital’s first patients, and they have experienced much of the new facility’s advancements- completely private patient rooms with lifts that allow a patient to travel around the room, all elements of the room accessible by wheelchair, the most modern rehabilitation equipment, lots of natural light and open space to meet with families, and compassionate caregivers.
