The new Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in the Charlestown Navy Yard opened its doors this month. Staff coordinated moving 100 patients to the new location. The new nine-story, 300,000 square feet medical facility offers the latest technology and resources for patients with spinal cord and brain injuries, stroke, burns, amputations, and other injuries.

Among its first patients are victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. The new hospital is designed for easier access to patients with various disabilities, including lower nurse station counters and private rooms to accommodate visitors.
