This past weekend, Partners HealthCare successfully launched its new electronic health and administrative record system at three entities: Brigham and Women's Hospital, Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, and Partners HealthCare at Home. The system, called Partners eCare, was also rolled out at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a clinical partner, and will eventually roll out to all of the Partners HealthCare hospitals and providers, facilitating easier connection between doctors, clinicians, and patients.

This new technology replaces a multitude of existing technologies at each hospital. The new system, developed by Epic Systems Corp., will ensure that providers across the system have up-to-date information about every patient within the system.

The rollout of Partners eCare at Brigham and Women's Hospital was profiled by The Boston Globe.
