The Partners HealthCare Center for Personalized Genetic Medicine (PCPGM)'s GeneInsight has won the 2013 Bio-IT World Best Practices Editors’ Prize. Since 2005, PCPGM’s GeneInsight—an IT application—has generated 30,000 patient reports that effectively analyze data. The aim is to reclassify genetic variants and their potential clinical indications. When new information becomes available about those variants, GeneInsight delivers the information to physicians in real time to alert identified patients of the possible implications.

PCPGM is working on gathering and analyzing genetic data in hopes that widespread knowledge sharing will inform care, treatment and disease prevention.
