Working with Project Bread, Partners HealthCare awarded $35,000 in grants to Summer Food Service Program locations that provide food for children in seven communities in the Greater Boston Area.

The support from Partners HealthCare allows public school districts and other local agencies to provide free, healthy meals to more than 8,600 children.

The Summer Food Service Program is geared toward encouraging nutrition and bridging the gap during the summer months, when there is a risk for hunger because of a lack of school meals.
