Massachusetts has often been recognized nationally as a leader in terms of health care policy, but James Noga, CIO of Partners HealthCare and Scott MacLean, Deputy CIO and Director of IS Operations of Partners HealthCare, argue that the state should also be seen as a leader in health IT.

In a recent Boston Globe opinion piece, the two make a case for greater integration of digital patient record systems across hospitals and providers for true improvement in care coordination. In order for doctors and care providers to have accurate patient information at their fingertips, Massachusetts must continue to push for greater connectivity across medical institutions.
