Three students from MGH Institute of Health Professions have been named Albert Schweitzer Fellows for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Jennifer Lettsome, Kristin M. Smith, and Hayley Younkin are among the 16 area graduate students who were chosen after undergoing a competitive review process. While continuing as full-time students at the Institute, each will volunteer 200 hours developing and implementing their program, and will receive a $2,000 stipend, during the next 12 months.

Upon completion, they will join the more than 2,700 Schweitzer Fellows for Life alumni who are committed to addressing the health needs of underserved people during their careers as health professionals.

A total of 36 MGH Institute students have been named Schweitzer Fellows since the program was launched in 1992.
