Four Partners HealthCare hospitals have been named as 2016 Leaders in LGBT Healthcare Equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the country’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Newton-Wellesley Hospital have all been included as “Leaders” on the Healthcare Equality Index 2016. To be included on the 2016 Index, hospitals need to meet four key criteria:

  1. Patient non-discrimination policies
  2. Equal visitation policies
  3. Employment non-discrimination policies
  4. Training in LGBT-Centered Care
