At a recent conference, Partners HealthCare's President and CEO Gary Gottlieb and CFO Peter Markell spoke about the organization's plans for creating a new model of health care. They outlined Partners' plans to improve care and reduce health care costs by expanding its network of hospitals in Eastern Massachusetts. They also discussed tactics for shifting routine care from Partners' academic medical centers, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, to hospitals and ambulatory care centers in community settings.
