As stewards of sponsored funds for the Partners entities, Research Management seeks to proactively address the administrative demands on investigators by providing exceptional customer service to our distinguished research community and collaborators in their pioneering efforts in science and medicine.

Partners Clinical Trials Office (CTO) is responsible for developing, negotiating, and executing agreements and budgets for industry-sponsored clinical research for Partners affiliates.
The Partners Human Research Committee (PHRC) is the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of Partners Research Management and must approve all human-subject research conducted by a Partners-affiliated investigator.
The Partners Human Research Quality Improvement Program provides ongoing support to the clinical research community through on-site reviews, audit preparation, review of minimal risk studies, annotated study binder visits, informed consent monitoring, and more.
Partners Research Information Services and Computing supports research by providing scientific services and technology, a centralized clinical data registry, genomics IT, specimen banking, and administrative systems. These specialized applications, processes and resources support basic, biomedical and clinical research missions across the academic medical centers of Partners HealthCare.
Many of the services are shared across the institutions at no cost to researchers. Additional services such as dedicated consultation, academic software licenses, data storage and back-up are offered on a fee-for-service basis.
Partners Innovation handles a wide range of responsibilities relating to translational research and the management of intellectual property and its associated institutional policies. The group provides investigators and administrators with guidance on commercialization and related opportunities, including intellectual property, material transfer agreements, marketing, licensing, start-up viability, and business development.
The Partners Research Compliance Office supports the research mission of Partners and its affiliates. This Office is a component of the Partners Compliance and Business Integrity Department, which promotes adherence to regulatory requirements and supports the development of ethical business practices throughout all of Partners.
