Medical Education Research Initiatives

The Partners Office of GME has implemented a number of initiatives aimed at encouraging and facilitating Medical Education Research (MER) in order to support faculty scholarship and academic promotion, help trainees explore potential career interests in this area, and inform the process of medical education here and elsewhere. The MER initiative offers:

Sessions on methods, teaching effectiveness, assessment as well as Works in Progress sessions that give investigators the opportunity to present a research plan for feedback from colleagues, and get advice about obstacles they may be encountering in launching a study.

Pilot funding is currently available to provide consultation with experts in study design and/or statistics.

Help in conducting a literature search—the foundation of planning a study—is available through the MGH and BWH libraries.
