Outstanding Clinical Teacher Award
The award will go to a faculty member who is an excellent clinical teacher. The nominee may be involved in any—or many—types of teaching: GME, UME or CME; one-on-one or large groups; bedside or lecture hall; inpatient or ambulatory; etc.
Specific criteria are not outlined: the selection committee will learn much from nominators’ descriptions of what they value in a clinical teacher and what characteristics of the nominee make him/her so effective.
Eligibility: Faculty member at a Partners hospital for at least three years
Nominations should include the following:
- at least one and no more than three letters from students, residents, fellows, or other learners (letters may be co-authored)
- letter from the Department Chair or Division Chief. The Chair or Division Chief will also be asked to submit all available (i.e unselected) teaching evaluations and any peer review of teaching that might be available.
- optional: letter from one or more teaching colleagues
Nominations for all awards should be forwarded electronically to Jean Tammaro by Tuesday, September 3, 2013.
