Vacation Club

What is Vacation Club?

Vacation Club at the BWH Backup Center is a time for school age children ages 5-12 to come and enjoy field trips, entertainment and many creative art activities.

Children need a break, as adults do, from the everyday hustle and bustle of typical routines. For school aged children, taking a break from traditional school-based learning is a great way to relax and enjoy a school vacation week or summer break, while still actively engaged in open-ended learning experiences.

We have created 7 weeks throughout the year for children to have the opportunity to meet new children and also enjoy reconnecting with friends from previous Vacation Club weeks.

Vacation Club occurs for 1 week in February, April and December, designed to coincide with the Boston and Brookline school vacation weeks; for 2 weeks at the end of June, designed to coincide with the period of time when traditional summer camps have not yet started; and for 2 weeks at the end of August, designed to coincide with the period of time when traditional summer camps have ended.

When you sign your child(ren) up to join us for Vacation Club, this is a chance for you as a parent to continue work and know that your child is having a fun-filled time without the worries of leaving your children at home by themselves or a babysitter or nanny calling out.

The children who have attended our Vacation Club programs in the past tend not to want to leave when the day is done, they can’t wait until the next day to see what adventures they will be exploring or in what activities they will be engaging.

Registration for Vacation Club is required and you can do so 6-weeks in advance by calling, e-mailing or stopping by. Vacation Club weeks tend to be very popular and fill up quickly so we encourage that you plan in advance and take advantage of the 6-week in advance registration process.

We look forward to see some familiar faces as well as new ones at our next, exciting Vacation Club week!
