Partners HealthCare Center for Personalized Genetic Medicine to offer whole genome sequencing in January

The Partners HealthCare Center for Personalized Genetic Medicine (PCPGM) will be offering whole genome sequencing in January. Whole genome sequencing allows doctors to make more informed decisions about treatments for patients based on their own genetic makeup. For example, certain cancers can be addressed more effectively when a doctor knows the patient's unique molecular charateristics and how he or she may respond to specific treatments.
PCPGM will be one of only ten facilities nationwide to offer whole genome sequencing.
